Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Loom Light is a deep-tech startup building Bayesian calibration tools for power distribution networks. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep things simple because we are a small team and we handle your data carefully.

Who we are

Loom Light is operated by its co-founders. You can reach us at leonie@loom-light.io with any questions about this policy or your data.

What data we collect

When you submit the early access form on our website, we collect:

We do not collect any other personal data. We do not use cookies, analytics trackers, or any third-party tracking scripts.

Why we collect it and our legal basis

We collect this data solely to fulfil your request for early access to our prototypes — specifically, to send you a link to try the tools you asked about. This falls under legitimate interest under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f): you actively requested access, and we need your contact details to provide it.

We will not use your data for unsolicited marketing, and we will not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

Who can see your data

Your form submission is stored securely by Netlify (our website host), who act as a data processor on our behalf. Only the Loom Light co-founders have access to submissions. Netlify's data processing infrastructure is based in the US; they are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can read Netlify's privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any other third parties.

How long we keep your data

We will keep your contact details for as long as we are actively developing and sharing Loom Light prototypes, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first. If Loom Light ceases operations, all personal data will be deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at leonie@loom-light.io. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully.

Changes to this policy

If we make any material changes to how we handle personal data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Given the early stage of Loom Light, we expect this policy to remain simple.

Questions? Email us at leonie@loom-light.io — we're a small team and we read everything.
